仕事で鳥見 カタグロトビやアカショウビン、リュウキュウヨシゴイ、カンムリワシなど
最近、仕事に忙殺されていましたが、新しい記者経験者が本日より入社し時間の余裕ができたので、取材の移動中に鳥見。もちろん紙面用の撮影も兼ねてです。なに載せようかなー。
町に近い田んぼでは、リュウキュウヨシゴイのオスが営巣の見張り番。メスが飛んできたら一緒に草むらに入って行きました。
カタグロトビも何度かの繁殖をへて、ずいぶん数を増やし、町の方へ進出しています。カタグロトビがホバリングするとシギなどは警戒していましたが、キジバトやリュウキュウヨシゴイは気にならない模様。
田んぼには、ウズラシギ とコアオアシシギ。ウズラシギのうちの1羽はオレンジ色のフラッグとメタルリングを装着。オーストラリアはヴィクトリア州から石垣島にやってきました。まだ旅の途中で最終地点はツンドラ。一体、この小さな体で何キロの旅をするのだろう。
田んぼの畦では子連れのシロハラクイナを見る機会が増えています。
山の方へ行ってみると林道をズグロミゾゴイの幼鳥が歩いていた。警戒心の全くない個体で自動車の通行の邪魔になっていた。^^;
カンムリワシは成鳥と幼鳥に会うことができ、リュウキュウアカショウビンも時折雨の降る曇天で活性が高く、たくさん観察することができました。
山あいの田んぼにはアカガシラサギもいて、今日は雨のおかげで、リュウキュウヨシゴイ、ズグロミゾゴイ、アカガシラサギと石垣島らしいサギ3種を半日で見ることができました。^^
キンバトはオスを2羽見ましたが撮影できず。

When the crows were gone, the Ryukyu Striated Heron stayed relaxed the whole time — preening and the like.
A White-breasted Waterhen with chicks. A common sight this time of year, but they are very wary and hard to photograph.
A Black-winged Kite also appeared at the rice paddies.

In the rain, I came across plenty of Ruddy Kingfishers in parks and similar spots.
A Ruddy Kingfisher that caught something unidentifiable. It was being mobbed by Brown-eared Bulbuls. Could there be a nest nearby?
An adult female Crested Serpent Eagle perched on its favourite Cyathea lepifera tree fern.
A juvenile Malayan Night Heron with no wariness at all on the forest road.
There was a Chinese Pond Heron in the rice paddies in the hills. My first Chinese Pond Heron since returning to Ishigaki Island.
