A Black-winged Kite appeared in the evening. Shot handheld at 1200 mm, so it came out blurry.

Javan Pond Heron, non-breeding plumage. Unusually, it was following behind a tractor.

Chinese Pond Heron, non-breeding plumage. It was in the same paddy field as the Javan Pond Heron above, and was also following the tractor around.

Purple Heron, adult.

Black-crowned Night Heron, adult, at a pasture.

At first glance it looks like an adult, but this is a Lesser Crested Tern in first-winter plumage.

Greater Sand Plover, first-winter plumage.

Lesser Sand Plovers were having a battle. Both are in winter plumage, but the individual in the foreground is the type without a white frontal bar, while the one in the background has a frontal bar.

Kentish Plover, first-winter. Small and cute. ^^

Grey-tailed Tattler, adult. Moulting from breeding to non-breeding plumage.

Ruddy Turnstone, adult. Moulting into non-breeding plumage.

Pacific Golden Plover, adult. Moulting from breeding to non-breeding plumage.

A Malabar Wagtail stretching. This is the shot I wanted!! There are flies on two of the secondaries.

The tail feathers appear to be moulting further as well.

It caught an unidentified insect.

The (Yellow-browed) Eastern Yellow Wagtail finally showed up. The adult male is still very much in summer plumage.

The upperparts have an olive tinge.

The first Red-throated Pipit of the season. It was eating grass seeds.

Having just arrived on migration, it was very wary, and I could only photograph a distant individual.

A Grey Wagtail slightly apart from the flock of Eastern Yellow Wagtails in the rice paddies. Always seems to position itself like that. ^^;

Great Reed Warbler — a scarce bird on Ishigaki Island. Juvenile. This was the best I could do at around 80 metres.

Two Oriental Reed Warblers — upper right and lower left in the frame. They were chasing each other around occasionally.

The Oriental Reed Warblers would sometimes call out in that loud voice of theirs.

It looked like they were picking up insects or something.

A gang of Oriental Reed Warblers that were constantly moving around and quite difficult to photograph.
