アカハラ、シマアカモズほか
きょうは、二十四節気のひとつ啓蟄でした。虫がうごめく啓蟄らしく暖かい一日でした。
奄美や八重山、本土などからヤツガシラの話題が聞こえてくるようになったので沖縄本島でも見つけられないかとそれらしいポイントを回ってきましたが見つけられず。代わりに沖縄本島では非常に少ないアカハラを見つけることができました。近くにはシマアカモズもいた。八重山にはたくさんいるシマアカモズも沖縄本島では、なかなか見ることができない野鳥です。
シギ、チドリの渡りも始まっているはずなのですが、タカブシギやタシギ、ミユビシギぐらいしか確認できなかった。
猛禽では、サシバの数がかなり減っていた。繁殖のため、本土に渡る個体が出てきたようだ。 先日のチョウセンチョウゲンボウらしき個体 は換羽が進んでいた。全体の色がかなり淡いのと、背中の黒斑が少ないのでチョウセンチョウゲンボウでいいのかな?
A Naumann's Thrush confirmed on Okinawa Island for the first time. Pale Thrushes are everywhere here, but Naumann's Thrush is extremely rare.
The Naumann's Thrush I'd been searching for was sitting on an ordinary patch of grass along the road. ^^;
On the same lawn as the Naumann's Thrush, there was also an Isabelline Shrike. Also a rare bird on Okinawa Island.
Is this a Lesser Kestrel or a Common Kestrel?
For a Common Kestrel, I think the dark spots on the back are rather few — what do you think?
Spring migration northbound movement, perhaps? Wood Sandpipers have been increasing too.
Common Snipe were resting in small clusters of several birds in the spots where they were most numerous.
A flock of about 20 White Wagtails was foraging on the lawn.
