We'll drive you around Ishigaki Island to wherever the birds are showing best that day. Observation is mostly from inside the vehicle, and we keep it to a maximum of 3 guests so everyone can take their time.
田んぼにハクセキレイが数十羽。中には、タイワンハクセキレイやホオジロハクセキレイなどもいました。ハクセキレイも減ったり増えたりを繰り返しています。新しい群れが渡ってきているのか、それとも島内をぐるぐる回っているのか…。
冬の間、ハクセキレイは普通に見られるので、亜種や齢の識別にも取り組みたいですね。

11月中旬に確認されたヒシクイ1羽とマガン11羽の群れが1カ月ぶりに戻ってきました。どこに行っていたのだろうか?
満潮の海中道路では、沖合の砂浜にメダイチドリがメインで500羽以上集まっていた。もっと近くで見られたらいいんだけど…。

おそらく、先月から滞在していると思われるマミジロタヒバリを運よく撮影することができました。潜行性が強く、ほとんどの時間を草むらの中で過ごしていましたが、時折、ひらけたところに出てきていました。
一番近くて10メートルぐらいまで近寄ってきましたが、基本的には警戒心強めでした。マミジロタヒバリを近くで見られる機会は少ないので嬉しい出会いでした。
昨年はマミジロタヒバリを豊崎の造成地で2羽 見ているのですが、ついに大規模な工事が入り、いよいよ商業施設が出来てしまうようです。大切な環境がなくなり残念。

Buff-bellied Pipits tend to duck into the grass, so getting a full-body view is quite a challenge… ^^;
6羽入ったオニアジサシが最後の1羽 になったのがちょうど1カ月前でしたが、ふたたびオニアジサシが入りました。強風が吹いていて寒そうに寝てばかりでしたが、いつまで滞在してくれるのか。具志干潟では、ダイシャクシギやダイゼンも越冬中。
三角池のソリハシセイタカシギ は2羽に増えていました。ヘラサギも 2年前 に見て以来の飛来でした。渡ってきたばかりなのか少し疲れた顔をしています。エリマキシギも逗留中です。

Of the two Ruffs that were here initially, one has disappeared, but the remaining bird is wintering in good health.
豊崎の公園にホシムクドリが40羽ほど群れていました。なんで今日はこんなに群れているのかと思ったら、近くにある与根の公園にハヤブサが入ったらかのようです。そちらの公園にはホシムクドリとムクドリが1羽ずつ。他は何もいませんでした。与根でよく群れているホシムクドリたちが豊崎に避難してきたようです。^^;
糸満の工場地帯にある公園ではウグイスやシロハラを見ることができました。相変わらずシロハラは警戒心が強い。
The Rosy Starlings totalled around 40 birds across two flocks. Mixed in among them were a few Common Starlings.

You can hear Japanese Bush Warblers wherever there is even a small patch of vegetation, but they rarely show themselves.
Pale Thrushes have been increasing too. I see several individuals a day, but they are very wary and rarely let me get a shot.
