暗色型サシバとジョウビタキのオス
昨年11月に見つけた暗色型サシバ も無事に年を越して、いつもの場所にいました。何月頃までいてくれるでしょうか。今冬、県内に暗色型サシバは3個体います。
暗色型サシバは、サトウキビに止まり畑の中に獲物を見つけると急降下で捕まえていた。おそらくネズミの仲間だとは思いますが、確認できず。チョウゲンボウは近くでハツカネズミやモグラの仲間のジャコウネズミ、ジネズミらしきを何匹か狩っていましたのでサシバも同じものをとっていると思われます。
暗色型サシバの場所に近い畑では、ジョウビタキのオスがいました。ジョウビタキは今季5羽目。オスは初めてです。
The dark-morph Grey-faced Buzzard these days perches like this in the middle of the sugarcane fields. Whether it always uses the same cane I'm not sure, but the tip had collapsed and seemed to make for an easy perch.
This one perches in the hedge along the boundary between fields.
This sugarcane must also get used as a perch regularly — the leaves at the tip are flattened.
It took off, spooked by a farm truck.
Daurian Redstart. The male was my first of the season. A very wary individual.
