A Buff-bellied Pipit sitting alone in a small vacant lot. It was in a strange spot by itself, so my heart skipped a beat for a moment. ^^;

No doubt about it — a Buff-bellied Pipit.

Once it flushed and the birds shuffled around, finding it again was hard work. It had half its body sticking out from behind a rock.

The Long-billed Dowitcher, a size smaller than the Common Greenshank and more subdued in appearance.

The Long-billed Dowitcher was up for only a moment; it was in this state almost the entire time.
