石垣島の田んぼにベニバト4羽と季節外れのコガモ
田んぼにベニバト4羽が入りました。オス成鳥が1羽メス成鳥が3羽です。
稲刈り後の田んぼでキジバトの群れと落ち穂を拾っていました。撮影しているとツミが上空を旋回してベニバトたちは藪の中へ逃げ込んでいました。
近くには季節外れのコガモが1羽。今から繁殖地を目指すのか?

Three Ruddy Cuckoo-Doves and an Oriental Turtle-Dove. Quite a size difference.
When Ruddy Cuckoo-Doves reach adulthood, the males take on this striking crimson color.
The Ruddy Cuckoo-Doves had been flushed once by a Japanese Sparrowhawk, but after a while they came back to the same paddy field. Once relaxed, they settled down and began sunbathing.
There was an out-of-season Eurasian Teal, for some reason.
