金武の田んぼでシギなど
久しぶりに金武へ行ってきました。水路の護岸は雑草が綺麗に刈られていましたが、エリマキシギやオジロトウネン、コアオアシシギ、アオアシシギ、アカアシシギ、セイタカシギ、ヒバリシギなど数は少ないですが、いろいろ入っていました。
昨年の秋、同所で足環の番号を読んだ 「KANKYOSYO TOKYO JAPAN 6A27456」のメタルリングを装着したアカアシシギ もやってきていました。
田んぼには、タシギやチュウジシギのほか、 先日見つけた翼の折れたアカアシシギ がいました。元気にやっています。渡ることはできないと思うので、ここで一生を終えることになるのでしょうか。金武をうろつくマングースや野猫、野犬にやられないことを祈ります。
ハクセキレイやキセキレイ、ツメナガセキレイも増えていました。

A Long-toed Stint I hadn't seen in a while. Just one bird, mixed in with a flock of Long-toed Stints — it was alone among them.

A few Marsh Sandpipers were in the irrigation channel. Moulting into adult winter plumage.
Long-toed Stints were present in good numbers in the channels and paddies.

There was just one Swinhoe's Snipe.
White Wagtails have been increasing since mid-October.
