This is the fifth juvenile Crested Serpent Eagle. It seems a bit lethargic, and I'm worried about it.

The wintering Common Kestrel was catching grasshoppers in the pasture, looking lively. It is less wary than last year. I wonder if it's a different individual?

On the way home I stopped at a spot to photograph a Northern Boobook, but it appeared 10 minutes late and it was too dark to get a picture... Today I saw four Northern Boobooks. Since they don't migrate on, they must be Ryukyu Northern Boobooks.

I waited for a Northern Boobook to come out, but no luck. ^^; Instead, here is a Crested Serpent Eagle that was nearby.

It came back to the same place again this year. This is its third winter here as a Grey-faced Buzzard.

It came out to its usual feeding spot a little late. Today I actually got to see a Northern Boobook hover!! Usually it darts out quickly and catches moths and the like, but a hovering Northern Boobook is a first for me.
