コアジサシまた受難
今年は台風の襲来もなく、コアジサシの繁殖が順調に推移すると期待していたのですが、なかなかうまくいかないものです。 6月初旬はPAC3配備でコアジサシ、シロチドリが営巣放棄 。今回は、ビーチオープン前の整備で営巣放棄してしまいました…。
コアジサシは、環境省のレッドリストで絶滅危惧 II 類に指定されているほか、日豪の二国間渡り鳥条約の「絶滅のおそれのある野生動植物の種の保存に関する法律」で国際希少野生動植物種に位置付けられているのですが、この扱いです。

It was a flock of about 70. I hope they find a new nesting site…
They were alarm-calling and mobbing beachgoers, but most of the nests had been crushed by heavy machinery, and no one paid the Little Terns any attention.
