We'll drive you around Ishigaki Island to wherever the birds are showing best that day. Observation is mostly from inside the vehicle, and we keep it to a maximum of 3 guests so everyone can take their time.

アカショウビン、カンムリワシ、マミジロタヒバリなど

新型コロナウイルスの影響で観光客が少なく、島民も自宅待機していることからリュウキュウアカショウビンの警戒心が解けて、日ごろ現れないような場所で何羽も発見しました。

カンムリワシはいつもながらマイペースで道路沿いで餌を探していましたが、こちらも静かになった島で交通事故の心配も減ってのんびりしているようです。

マミジロタヒバリは広い畑に2羽。土砂降りなどにもめげずに餌探しに勤しんでいました。

先日のクロツラヘラサギ はまだいました。北風が強いので渡れないのかな?

A male Peregrine Falcon that failed in its hunt. The feathers are quite wet from the heavy rain that had just passed. All the other falcons and raptors had long since headed north toward their breeding grounds — for a male, this one is taking its time.
