日本最南端で繁殖しているムクドリ。渡りでは八重山にも越冬のため少数がやってきますがカラムクドリやギンムクドリより少ない程度。
沖縄本島では、那覇市内で少数が繁殖しているようです。

豊崎干潟にクロツラヘラサギ
豊崎干潟にクロツラヘラサギが5羽。三角池には、3羽いた。夏羽に変わりつつあり立派な冠羽が目立つようになってきました。
There was a Black-faced Spoonbill with leg flag J15. The breast is starting to take on some colour.
A fine crest.
Five Black-faced Spoonbills were roosting on the Toyosaki tidal flat.
