リュウキュウコノハズク、リュウキュウアオバズクの営巣
コノハズクの新しい巣を発見しました。メスが抱卵しているのが小さな巣穴から見えました。また、 昨日のアオバズク は、たまたま出てきたのではなく、この近くで営巣しているようです。昨日と同じ木に止まっていました。
A Brown Hawk-Owl was perched in a chinaberry tree. Which tree it is nesting in is unknown.
I found a new nesting tree for a Oriental Scops Owl. Nearby, the male is keeping watch. It cocks its head to one side — quite endearing. But when a crow came close, it launched a fierce attack and drove it off.
Walking through the windbreak with binoculars around my neck, I sensed something watching me. A female Oriental Scops Owl was visible from a small nest hole. She appears to still be incubating.
