We'll drive you around Ishigaki Island to wherever the birds are showing best that day. Observation is mostly from inside the vehicle, and we keep it to a maximum of 3 guests so everyone can take their time.

渡ってきてかなりたつので、人を怖がらなくなってきた。^^
Gorging on earthworms in the soil. I'm always impressed watching it hunt prey it can't even see yet. ^^
Pale Thrush is a plain bird, but somehow it always makes me happy when a lot of them come through on migration. ^^

思わぬところで見つけました。聞き慣れない鳥の鳴き声がするので探してみると、なんとオリイヤマガラ!!
本命はだめでしたが、これで1時間山登りしたかいがありました。^^
I fumbled to swap lenses from the EF24-70mm F2.8 II USM, but the one I had to hand was the EF70-200mm F2.8 IS USM. ^^;

It's aware of my presence, but comes right up to me without a care in the world. ^^
It was sneaking up to catch guppies. Why are there guppies here? ^^;
昨年2012年の11月に保護された「 キング 」です。顔の傷がひどくなっているような気がします…。
When a nearby adult pair called out an alarm, it crossed the road and disappeared into the forest. I just hope it doesn't get hit by a car….

見つけると茂みに逃げ込むことが多いクロウタドリですが、この個体は全く逃げません。^^
Foraging together with Pale Thrushes, Brown-headed Thrushes, and others.
Like the Pale Thrush, it was catching small earthworms.

Today, a different adult Crested Serpent Eagle was perched on the branch where King — a juvenile hatched this year — is often found. Could be a parent?
両方とも赤系。いつも同じ場所にいるなー。^^

Saw 3 Common Kestrels today. I wonder how much longer they'll stay on Ishigaki-jima.
右足に黒色の足環Dがあるので、 2012年4月保護のリョウ と思われます。
A ring is visible on the right leg.
It caught a small animal twice or so. Couldn't see what it had caught… ^^;
