Not bad at all.

It had found quite a nice perch!! It's not asleep — it's keeping one eye slightly open, watching me.

After waiting about an hour, it came close!!

The moment of feeding, but the environment was very dark and the shutter speed wouldn't come up, so the chick is completely blurred.

It seems some time has passed since fledging — it looks almost identical to the parent.

It was feeding the chicks small moths, spiders and the like. The chicks were still too small to see…

Over about two hours of observation, the female brought food five times. The male never showed himself once.

I finished work at 21:00 and rushed straight there, so the time I got to enjoy was short…

I didn't have much time and it was a bit of a rushed shot, but it's as beautiful as ever!!

When I found it, it was napping, but a crow's presence woke it and it had a big stretch!!

It's just over a month since hatching, but it's already hunting prey on its own. That sharp, fierce look typical of raptors.

Today I was able to observe a lot of Ruddy Kingfishers — seven in total. A remarkable number for this time of year!!

A Ruddy Kingfisher chick that I believe had just fledged this morning. Still covered in a lot of pin feathers.

The showy one on the left is the female and the plain one is the male. The male also does the chick-rearing.

Courtship is also the female's role. A singing female Greater Painted-snipe.
