いい天気でしたー。

There was a cumulonimbus cloud low on the horizon, so the sun wasn't visible as it dropped below the waterline.

今日は、キイロスジボタルがよく映り込んだなー。

Not to be outdone by the Yaeyama Fireflies, the Pale Evening Brown Firefly takes flight!!

久しぶりのヤエヤマボタル。

The Yaeyama Fireflies still seem to be going strong.

夜になるとめちゃくちゃ湿度が上がりました。霧もでてきていいふんいきでしたー。

ホタルの数は過去最高でした。辺り一面ホタルだらけ…。

You can probably make out the mist hanging in the air.

I focused on the scenery, so there aren't many fireflies in the photo — but all around it was incredible!!

いっとき、少なくなっていましたが、きゆうでした。

I wanted to frame it with some nice ferns, but it didn't fly around much. Other spots were buzzing with them though….

途中、雨と風に苛まれる…。

Missed focus….

ここのホタルのピークは過ぎたようです。次は、西のポイントで!!

前日は、南西の風が吹いてたのに、当日は北東の風。もちろん、気温、湿度ともに下がりホタルのでがわるかった…。

Not many at all.

今期、初のキイロスジボタルが観察できました。

Kiirosujibotaru fireflies are climbing the tree in the middle.

カメラ2台体制でヤエヤマボタルの撮影にのぞみました。7Dを久しぶりに使ったけど、高感度でノイズがおおいなー。ノイズリダクションをかければ、何とかなるけど…。

谷へ20〜30メートルおりてみたら回り一面ホタルに囲まれた!

今夜は、中央ポイント。 蒸し暑く風もないのでいい予感がしてた。

A large number of Yaeyama fireflies came out. The hillside felt like it was blanketed in their light. The photos are so-so, but my eye should be back in by around May….
