What's it after, I wonder.

I thought it was fluttering along lazily, then it made a sharp turn and snatched a grasshopper.

Winter plumage. There were individuals in summer plumage too, but they were resting in the paddies and didn't fly. ^^;

Juvenile birds are beautiful.

It was calling out with a begging cry, calling for its parents.

Another fine day from start to finish. ^^

It's such a striking wader that it stands out even in the rice paddies. ^^
