It seems the Peregrine Falcon and the Eastern Marsh Harrier share the same hunting ground — hence this. The Peregrine is the feisty one.

A Grey-faced Buzzard carrying a transmitter on its back. Research like this really helps shed light on the ecology of migratory birds.

In the evening, a chick poked its head out and that's how I found the nest.

It plunges its foot into the nest hole to grab the Ruddy Kingfisher chicks inside.

Three of the four Ruddy Kingfisher chicks were taken. Hard luck for the kingfishers, but the Japanese Sparrowhawk is also raising young at this time of year.
