荒れた天気でヤツガシラの第2波到着(動画あり)
昨日から荒れ模様の石垣島。荒天となるとやはりヤツガシラが空から降ってくるのが石垣島です。3カ所で4個体が現れました。クロウタドリも到着したのですが、私はタイミングが悪くて見られずでした。
今季は、2月下旬に単独でやって来たのを皮切りに、3月中旬に十数羽、4月に入ってすぐ5羽を確認。春の渡りにつきものですが、滞在はいずれも数日から長くて1週間と短めです。
It was perching on a branch looking tired, but after a while it came down to the ground and started searching for food. It caught a cockroach.
It rested and fed on large numbers of insects and arthropods.
A Eurasian Hoopoe on the lawn is a staple sight on Ishigaki Island. This individual was fairly wary.
