増えるヤツガシラ、初記録のハクガンも(動画あり)
前日に続き、この日もあちことにヤツガシラが入りました。2日間で5カ所に6羽です。いずれも仕事の移動中に少し探しただけなので、実際にはかなりの数が石垣島に滞在していると思われます。
写真はないのですが、石垣島はもちろん沖縄県内でも初記録となるハクガン2羽が登場しました。日没寸前にも目撃されたので、まだ島に滞在していることを期待。再発見して写真に残すのが目標です。^^
今季は非常に少なかったツグミを確認。ハチジョウツグミは3カ所で確認されるも警戒心が強かったり、条件が悪かったりで仕事中ということもあり時間切れで写真は撮れず…。
ジョウビタキも移動組が島にやってきているようで、出会う機会が増えています。

This season is a good year for Eurasian Hoopoes. Head to the northern part of Ishigaki Island and you have a good chance of running into one.
Something startled it — the Eurasian Hoopoe flew up into a tree and fanned out its crest.
Black-winged Kite, 2nd calendar year. That said, since the species breeds year-round across Ishigaki Island, the true age is hard to pin down — but it is certainly not an adult.
The wintering numbers of Common Kestrels this season were higher than usual. It was also striking how many individuals showed little wariness.
Dusky Thrushes were a rare sight this season. Pale Thrushes can be heard calling reasonably often, but actual sightings are infrequent, so the wintering population doesn't seem particularly large either.
A male Common Redstart. It appeared to be catching small insects while hopping across the lawn.
A female Common Redstart. Early in the migration period, females are fewer than males.
