カンムリワシ放鳥
10月21日に交通事故に遭って保護されたカンムリワシが無事に放鳥されました。10年ほど前から浦田原を縄張りにして継続観察されている個体で右目にシミがあることから「ポイント」の愛称で親しまれていたメスの個体です。繁殖も数年前から確認されています。
今回の救護で右足に「6」と刻まれた黒い足環を個体識別用に装着されました。発見した方はお知らせください。関係機関に報告いたします。
Poised and clearly ready to fly.
When placed on the ground it walked several metres before stopping.
After a little while, watched over by the rescue workers, officials, and press, it flew off strongly.
Lately, for some reason, I've ended up directing things on site — the direction of flight, the positioning of the media and so on — but this time it flew exactly the course I'd predicted, so I just about managed to save face… ^^;
