リュウキュウガモ滞在中、カンムリワシ放鳥
石垣島のリュウキュウガモは再発見 以降、継続して観察できています。釣り人が来ると驚いて遠くへ移動し、草むらに隠れてしまいます。土日は釣り人が多いようですね。
衰弱で救護されていたカンムリワシ幼鳥の放鳥を取材してきました。左足に「6」の数字が刻印された赤い脚環が標識されています。名前はリハビリを担当した方により「未来」と名付けられました。関係者や報道陣に見守られながら、力強く羽ばたいていきました。

Wary of a fisherman, by the afternoon it was doing nothing more than poking its head out of the grass.
A juvenile Crested Serpent Eagle beating its wings powerfully. It was released one and a half months after being taken into care.
It was banded around this time last year, so it is now exactly one year old. Still largely covered in juvenile plumage, though showing considerable wear.
