イワミセキレイねぐら入り、ベニバト滞在中
仕事帰りにキセキレイ50羽とツメナガセキレイ20羽ほどの群れが、ねぐら入り前の大集合をしていたので、交じり物を探しているとイワミセキレイが1羽いました。ふつうは林道に生息するのですが、まさかサトウキビ畑でイワミセキレイに出会えるとは驚きです。
この日の翌日にも同じ場所でキセキレイの群れに交じっていたので、昼間はどこかの林道にいるものと思われます。同じ群れにハクセキレイ1羽もいました。このままキセキレイたちと越冬してくれるとうれしいですね。
ベニバトは2羽が滞在中ですが、カタグロトビやハイイロチュウヒ、ハイタカなのが毎日、やってくるので落ち着かない様子です。なぜかシマアカモズもベニバトやキジバトと行動していましたが、猛禽が恐ろしいからなのでしょうか。
A rare experience — encountering a White-browed Wagtail in a sugarcane field. It appears to roost together with other wagtails.
It roosted in the same spot two days running, so I'm hopeful it will overwinter.
The two male Cream-coloured Doves have joined a flock of Oriental Turtle Doves.
A Bull-headed Shrike associating with Cream-coloured Doves and Oriental Turtle Doves. The other small birds are on edge too, with so many raptors around.
In the end, the snipe have come down to Common Snipe only.
