春の渡りのハリオシギ最遅記録
春の渡りとしては、これまででもっとも遅い記録となるハリオシギを見つけました。あと、3カ月もすればハリオシギの秋の渡りが始まるというのに…。石垣島には、台風2号が接近中なので6月まで滞在する可能性が高いですね。楽しみです。
シギの渡りはほぼ終わっていますが、セイタカシギとアオアシシギの小さな群れが到着しました。
An out-of-season Pin-tailed Snipe. Almost fully in summer plumage.
When I found it, it looked like this — a bit tense. It had that Pin-tailed Snipe feel about it even before I got the binoculars on it. ^^

A Common Moorhen incubating eggs. It had built its nest beside a farm road with heavy foot traffic from walkers and others.
