Ruddy Shelduck and Tundra Swan on extended stays
The Ruddy Shelduck that have been present since last year fluctuate between three and five birds. Two Tundra Swans are also on a long stay.
One Mallard was among a flock of Eastern Spot-billed Ducks — an unusual sighting for Ishigaki Island. A flock of 42 was at the dam.
It has become considerably less wary than when it first arrived.
Always together with the individual above.
Two adult and one juvenile Ruddy Shelducks. The juvenile has moulted considerably since arrival and now looks much like the adults.

A long-staying Tundra Swan. There are many unharvested rice plants this season, so food does not seem to be a problem.
