5年連続の暗色型サシバ 出会いの多いカタグロトビ(動画あり)
2018年から石垣島で毎年、越冬している暗色型のサシバ が今年もやって来ました。最初の年は幼鳥だったので、今年で5歳になります。少しずつ警戒心が弱くなり、今年はかなり近くで観察できるようになりました。
2015年に石垣島に初めて現れて 以来、順調に繁殖を重ねていまや石垣島内のあちこちで見ることができるカタグロトビはついに、町中へも進出して来ました。この日は真栄里にあるマックスバリュ上空で2羽が連れ添って飛ぶのを確認。石垣市役所東側の荒地で餌取りしているのもよく見かけます。

In the evenings, I often see Black-winged Kites hunting over rice paddies, sugarcane fields, and pastures.
White Wagtails have been increasing too.

The snipe in the rice paddies are all Common Snipe. All juveniles.
