We'll drive you around Ishigaki Island to wherever the birds are showing best that day. Observation is mostly from inside the vehicle, and we keep it to a maximum of 3 guests so everyone can take their time.
7月も始まったばかりだというのに、もうハシビロガモが飛来しました。ふつーは石垣島では、11月ごろからカモの渡りが本格化するのですが、いったいどういうことなのでしょうか。

After a while it was moving around the paddy field, foraging.
Juvenile Purple Heron. It comes to this feeding spot almost every day.
It was tracking a bee flying right in front of it with its eyes.
シラコバトが石垣島に現れました。島では珍しいです。大陸から南下してきたのでしょうか。
ベニバトもまだ数は少ないですが、渡りが始まっており観察できるようになってきました。
田んぼでは繁殖を終えたスズメやシマキンパラが群れになりつつあり、数を増やしています。キジバトはまだ繁殖中で2〜3羽ほどで行動していることが多いです。
石垣島では8月に入れば、シギやチドリも含めて渡りが活発化してきます。

Oriental Turtle Doves are still moving in small numbers rather than flocking.

The harvested paddy fields are a feeding ground for the Common Emerald Doves.
Not as large as the Eurasian Tree Sparrow flocks, but the Scaly-breasted Munia groups have been getting bigger too.
