We'll drive you around Ishigaki Island to wherever the birds are showing best that day. Observation is mostly from inside the vehicle, and we keep it to a maximum of 3 guests so everyone can take their time.
11月に見つけたアサクラサンショウクイは毎日、元気に出現中です。人への警戒心はほとんどないのですが、シマアカモズやカラスに追われています。
昨年のアサクラサンショウクイは12月下旬ごろまで滞在 しましたが、ことしはいつまで見られるのでしょうか。
Ashy Minivet, first-winter. Grabbed a quick shot before heading to work. Right after this, it was chased off by a Brown Shrike.
今季初確認となるマミジロタヒバリ2羽が畑に飛来しました。牛舎付近にはシベリアハクセキレイと思われる個体がいました。
That posture is Buff-bellied Pipit even from a distance. ^^

Some distance away, but this appears to be a first-winter White Wagtail (Siberian).
日を追うごとに寒くなる石垣島ですが、ガンの仲間も増えてきました。石垣島や沖縄では非常に珍しいカリガネもやってきました。ほかにはヒシクイが5羽、オオヒシクイが1羽、マガンが25羽の群れと別の場所に2羽滞在中。
先日の大陸から八重山にかけて吹き付けた強い北西の風に乗ってやってきたのかもしれません。

これまで石垣島で記録のなかったシベリアジュリンを発見しました。農道沿いで雑草の種子をついばんでいました。11月に入り、連日、珍しい鳥が入る石垣島には多くの鳥屋が訪れてお祭り騒ぎとなっています。^^

If you watch quietly, it turns out to be surprisingly unwary.
夕方、師匠から緊急連絡。なんと石垣島にタカサゴクロサギが登場しました!! 石垣島では、過去にも出ているのですが、写真が撮られたのは今回が始めてだと思われます。
ソリハシセイタカシギは今季4羽目。滞在はそれほど長くないですが、この個体は警戒心が薄いので越冬に期待。
オオハシシギは10月20日に確認 してから同じ場所で滞在。こちらも警戒心なし。
そしてクロツラヘラサギもオオハシシギやソリハシセイタカシギ、オオハシシギと同じ場所で警戒心なし。この3種のほかバン、オオバンなどウオーキングの人が通っても平気なのは驚きです。
Yellow Bittern. Probably a juvenile. That completes the genus Ixobrychus for me. ^^
Pied Avocets turning up intermittently. All four birds this season are juveniles.
The long-staying Long-billed Dowitcher. It would be nice if it stayed until summer plumage.

Snipe numbers in the rice fields kept growing — around 15 birds here.
