子育て中のコノハズクとアオバズク
石垣島ナンバーワンの野鳥ガイド「スポッター」さんに教えていただき、息子を連れてリュウキュウコノハズクとリュウキュウアオバズクを見てきました。息子はかわいさのあまり「捕まえて連れて帰る」と騒いでいた…。^^;
A male Ryukyu Scops Owl keeping watch over the nest from a tree. My son couldn't work out where it was… A shame.
A male Brown Hawk-Owl also keeping watch over its nest. This one was perched at a easy-to-see spot just a little above eye level, so my son was thrilled. One of the tail feathers looks like it's about to fall out. I'd love it if it did. ^^
