アカショウビン、カタグロトビ、ツバメチドリなど
取材の合間に見た鳥たち。こうやってみると石垣島は野鳥の楽園ですね。^^
カタグロトビの繁殖ポイントではたくましく育った幼鳥がカラスを追い散らしていました。少し前まではカラスにいじめられて流血までしていたのに成長したものです。カタグロトビの近くにはツバメチドリの成鳥と幼鳥が合わせて10羽ほど。おそらく石垣島での繁殖個体たちです。
公園ではリュウキュウアカショウビンを数羽。子育てはほぼ終わっています。ズグロミゾゴイは子育て中の個体や巣立って独り立ちした個体などさまざま見られます。
田んぼではタカブシギやヒバリシギ、コチドリたちが羽を休め、その上をクロハラアジサシが飛び回っていました。
会社近くの田んぼではムラサキサギの幼鳥、海岸ではエリグロアジサシやベニアジサシ、コアジサシ。今季は台風が来ておらず、アジサシたちの繁殖が順調です。いつも繁殖する岩礁が定員オーバーでその手前の岩礁で仕方なく抱卵しているエリグロアジサシもいました。
仕事中にこれだけ鳥が見られる場所もなかなかないと思います。
仕事が終わって家で晩飯を食った後は、いつものリュウキュウコノハズク観察。2羽のうちの1羽が巣立ちました。^^

Of the two Black-winged Kites that fledged, one was apparently taken by crows. The survivor was also bullied considerably by crows, but has grown up well.
The crow is larger in body, but the Black-winged Kite holds its own.
