久しぶりの沖縄本島で探鳥
約1カ月ぶりに沖縄本島へ行ってきました。向こうの友人とやんばるで合流してまずはヤンバルクイナの鉄板ポイントへ。リュウキュウオオコノハズクはまだ抱卵中かヒナが小さいようで樹洞の中からメスのオオコノハズクの鳴き声が聞こえるのみでした。気になるのは、オオコノハズクの営巣木の近くでリュウキュウアオバズクがわが物顔で餌を捕っていたことでしょうか。さすがにオオコノハズクの営巣木を奪うことはないと思いますが心配です。
辺野喜ダム近くでは、リュウキュウアカショウビンが枝で寝ていました。昨年も全く同じ場所で寝ていたので同じ個体の可能性が高いです。
リュウキュウオオコノハズクも複数羽確認したのですが、警戒心が強めで撮影には至らず。
ノグチゲラの営巣も見つけましたが、ヒナがまだ小さいようで見ている間には給餌は1度だけでした。写真は時間切れで残念ながらありません…。^^;
ホントウアカヒゲは軽自動車がギリギリ通れるぐらいの林道で子育て中でした。メスが餌運びをしてオスが近くで警戒していました。
レンタカーを返す前には三角池に寄るとウズラシギが6羽。ヒバリシギやセイタカシギなどもいました。
At the Okinawa Rail site, I found an individual roosting almost as soon as I arrived.
A male Ryukyu Robin on guard near the nest.
When other robins approached, the male would drive them off. He showed no reaction to people.
A Ruddy Kingfisher roosting on exactly the same spot, the same branch as last year.
A male Ryukyu Scops Owl loitering around the nesting tree of a Elegant Scops Owl. Like the Elegant Scops Owl, the female of this species is probably incubating at this time of year.
Sankakuike had few birds, but I was able to see Sharp-tailed Sandpipers and Long-toed Stints in summer plumage.
This Sharp-tailed Sandpiper still had winter plumage remaining.
