We'll drive you around Ishigaki Island to wherever the birds are showing best that day. Observation is mostly from inside the vehicle, and we keep it to a maximum of 3 guests so everyone can take their time.
先日、入ったミヤマホオジロはまだ滞在中でした。天気がイマイチなので渡りたくないのかどうなのか。芝生で餌をとっていました。すぐ近くにコホオアカも入ったのですが、なかなか警戒心が強く、撮影できず断念…。
石垣島の春の渡りはまだまだ続きますので、次は何が現れるか楽しみで仕事が手につきません。^^;
A Yellow-throated Bunting stretching up to peck at grass seeds growing in the lawn.
Where the grass was tall, the Yellow-throated Bunting moved by hopping up into the air.
鳴き声はもちろん、姿も毎日のように見ることができるようになったリュウキュウアカショウビン。海岸林や公園、林道などで会えます。自宅のベランダからも毎朝のようにアカショウビンの姿を拝むことができます。
カンムリワシは、繁殖期序盤で抱卵に入っていると思われますが、それでも成鳥、幼鳥ともにコンスタントに見られています。この日は、田んぼと林道でカンムリワシの成鳥と幼鳥を見ました。幼鳥といっても白い幼鳥羽が成鳥の羽に変わりつつある個体でした。
A Ryukyu Kingfisher was perched in the shade of a tree. Beautiful among the green.
It was relaxed and preening, but a crow that was nest-building nearby came to disturb it and the bird disappeared into the vegetation.
A Crested Serpent Eagle hatched last year. From this point in its second calendar year, it begins moulting into adult plumage and by around autumn will look indistinguishable from a full adult. It was a remarkably tame individual.
