2年ぶりのオオハシシギ
昨年12月ごろから逗留中のオオハシシギは無事に年越ししました。毎回、遠すぎて写真が撮れなかったけど、今日は比較的近くで休んでいました。長潮で満潮時間も過ぎていたので期待していませんでしたが、アオアシシギが岸から40メートルほどのところで20羽ほど群れており、双眼鏡でのぞいてみると目立たないオオハシシギがおりました。嘴を翼に突っ込んで寝ていると見つけるのに一苦労です。^^;
一度は、サーファーに飛ばされましたが、しばらくするとアオアシシギとともに同じ場所へ戻ってきましたが、終始、暖かい日差しを浴びながら寝ていました…。約2年ぶりの出会い。

Once it flushed and the birds shuffled around, finding it again was hard work. It had half its body sticking out from behind a rock.

The Long-billed Dowitcher was up for only a moment; it was in this state almost the entire time.
