まだいる漫湖のナンヨウショウビン(動画あり)
漫湖での滞在期間が8カ月の長逗留のナンヨウショウビン。きょうの沖縄は天気もよく汗ばむ陽気の中、何度も目の前に現れ、ナンヨウショウビンファンのみなさんを楽しませてくれました。福岡から来た若いカップルも到着早々にナンヨウショウビンを見ることができ幸先のよいスタートが切れたようです。
一番のお気に入りの枝に止まると、シロガシラ2羽の猛烈な攻撃を受けていました。巣があるのかもしれません。攻撃をうるさがってか、きょうは、いつもはあまり止まらない木を利用していました。
この木は、展望台近辺からも見えるのですが、木道をセンターの方へ戻ると1カ所だけ最短距離で抜ける場所があります。そこから撮ると距離も近く順光でナンヨウショウビンの美しい姿が夏のような太陽に照らされてひときわ輝いていました。みなさんも試してください。1人分の場所しかないので譲り合いの心でお願いします。

This is what it looks like from near the observation platform on the boardwalk. A bit distant.
If you walk back a short way from the observation platform toward the center, you can shoot at close range in good light. And because you're shooting through a gap in the mangroves, the Collared Kingfisher doesn't seem to mind.
