We'll drive you around Ishigaki Island to wherever the birds are showing best that day. Observation is mostly from inside the vehicle, and we keep it to a maximum of 3 guests so everyone can take their time.
ハマシギやアカアシシギ、オオソリハシシギ、キアシシギ、ヒバリシギなど春の北上組がちらほら。
オオソリハシシギ1羽が頭上を越えて降り立ちましたが遠過ぎて途中で見失う。^^;

刈り取り作業中の牧草地にツバメチドリが10羽ほどで飛来しました。刈り取り作業に驚いて飛び出すバッタなどを捕食しているようです。
ほとんどのツバメチドリは美しい夏羽に変わっていました。

明日は、二十四節気の一つ清明です。八重山には、アカショウビンが渡ってくるころで20日の穀雨を迎えるころには、アカショウビンの数も一気に増えます。
沖縄本島では、アカショウビンの姿を見る機会は少ないですが、海岸には、シマアジが飛来していました。ヒドリガモやオナガガモ、コガモ、オオバンなどと群れていた。毎年、春の渡りの途中に立ち寄って行きます。
シマアジは、水中に頭を突っ込んでは水草を食っている模様。
