長旅でお疲れのツバメチドリ

宮城島の畑にツバメチドリが50羽ほどひとまとまりに。一様に疲れた様子だったのでどこかから渡ってきたばかりなのでしょうか。

増えるサシバ、減るミフウズラ

10月8日、寒露の日のアカハラダカ、サシバの渡り を境に越冬組と思われるサシバが増えだし、代わりにサシバのことを恐れるミフウズラはほとんど見なくなった。^^;

今日は、伊計島のサトウキビ畑でサシバを3個体発見。石垣島の越冬サシバと違って沖縄本島のサシバは警戒心が弱いですね。サシバの止まる木の下をレンタカーが走るのですが、全く気にすることなく大きなバッタらしき獲物を捕らえていた。

チョウゲンボウは、伊計島の手前にある宮城島で2羽観察。サシバとチョウゲンボウが住み分けているのは偶然なのか。今冬の観察課題とします。

サシバが見られるようになると、すっかり姿を潜めてしまったミフウズラをなんとか発見できました。いつもいるような開けた場所でなく、上空から死角になる木の下で餌探ししていました。
