We'll drive you around Ishigaki Island to wherever the birds are showing best that day. Observation is mostly from inside the vehicle, and we keep it to a maximum of 3 guests so everyone can take their time.
大浜海岸では、潮が満ちてムナグロやダイゼン、キアシシギなどが岩礁の上で休んでいました。近くのムナグロのねぐらの芝生では、怪我をしたムナグロが1羽いました。

There was a Pacific Golden-Plover with a broken left wing. Must have hit a power line or something.
昨年の10月からのカタグロトビ。年が明けて2016年も元気にしていました。最大3羽が同じ場所にいたのですが、今日は1羽だけでした。相変わらずカラスとカタグロトビは犬猿の仲でした。
警戒心の強いカタグロトビですが、今日は、サトウキビ畑の向こう側にいたので、長靴に履き替えて畑と草むらの間を背の高いサトウキビに隠れながらカタグロトビに接近することができました。^^ おまけにカタグロトビの鳴き声も聞くことができました。
近くでは、ミサゴが求愛飛行をしていました。石垣島では繁殖の記録はないので、春になればどこかへ渡る個体なのでしょう。
