GUIDED BIRDWATCHING TOUR
We'll drive you around Ishigaki Island to wherever the birds are showing best that day. Observation is mostly from inside the vehicle, and we keep it to a maximum of 3 guests so everyone can take their time.
先日のアオバズクの巣立ち で全て終わったと思っていたのですが、5年前から見ている最後の1ペアのヒナたちがまだ巣立っていませんでした…。^^;
樹洞のヒナの姿は見えませんが、鳴き声は昼間から盛んに聞こえていたので間もなく巣立つと思われます。

石垣島のブロンズトキは長い間、私たちを楽しませてくれています。羽が落ちたら拾ってやろうと思っているのですが、なかなか抜け変わりません…。^^;
この日は、西日を浴びて光り輝くブロンズトキを撮ってやろうと夕方にポイントへ移動。天気も良く撮影しやすい田んぼにいてくれましたので、金属光沢を放つブロンズトキを拝むことができました。構造色なので光の加減で色合いは大きく変わります。
I managed to get a good shot of the underwing of a Glossy Ibis. Rather than bronze, it shimmered like tempered stainless steel.
The upperparts are gleaming beautifully too.

石垣島では、リュウキュウコノハズクの巣立ちが最盛期を迎えています。
子どもを寝かしつけてから1時間ほどポイントを回ってきました。自宅を午後11時出発とコノハズクを見つけるには厳しい時間帯でしたが、それでも10羽ほど確認できました。
コノハズクは、これから7月下旬までが巣立ちのピークで可愛らしい巣立ちビナが見られます。
夜間の観察、撮影はハブもおり大変なので私の友人が主宰する野鳥ガイドのスポッターにお願いするのがいいですよ。難しい夜間の撮影方法も伝授してくれます。^^

They're so cute I'm posting lots of photos. ^^
They will live under their parents' protection for a while longer, learning how to hunt and other skills.
