リュウキュウコノハズク巣立ち最盛期
石垣島では、リュウキュウコノハズクの巣立ちが最盛期を迎えています。
子どもを寝かしつけてから1時間ほどポイントを回ってきました。自宅を午後11時出発とコノハズクを見つけるには厳しい時間帯でしたが、それでも10羽ほど確認できました。
コノハズクは、これから7月下旬までが巣立ちのピークで可愛らしい巣立ちビナが見られます。
夜間の観察、撮影はハブもおり大変なので私の友人が主宰する野鳥ガイドのスポッターにお願いするのがいいですよ。難しい夜間の撮影方法も伝授してくれます。^^

The Totoro of Ishigaki Island. You can only see Ryukyu Scops Owls like this at this time of year!!
They're so cute I'm posting lots of photos. ^^
They will live under their parents' protection for a while longer, learning how to hunt and other skills.
