巣作り中のキンバト、子育て中のコノハズク、アカショウビン、カンムリワシ
今日はカンムリワシを見たいという息子と二人でバードウオッチング。昼飯を中華で済ませ、昼過ぎから山間部へ。
キンバトは林道で6個体確認。毎年のことですが、台風後はキンバトが見やすくなります。巣作り中のキンバトも発見。マーニ(クロツグ)の枝の付け根に小枝で巣を作っている最中でした。オスが小枝を集め、メスが巣で受け取っていました。キンバトはなかなか繁殖を観察する機会がないので大切に繁殖の記録をつけたいと思います。
コノハズクは孵化後、1週間程度たっているはずですが、まだメスがヒナを抱いていました。オスは近くで見張り番。
アカショウビンはすでに子育て終了しているようでした。6月下旬までにほとんど終わってしまいます。
カンムリワシはメスが1羽。犬の散歩をしている人が近づくと飛んで逃げました。人間には慣れた個体ですが、犬のことは相当警戒していました。

An Emerald Dove that has found a favourite perch.
It was carrying a twig to the female waiting in the Kuro-tsugu palm.
It was carrying some fairly long twigs too. The light was dim so the wings are blurry… ^^;

When a Scops Owl is completely relaxed, it perches on a branch like this.
This one is slightly alert to my presence.
Ryukyu Kingfishers can still be observed easily.
I think this individual was a female.
A female Crested Serpent Eagle. It was on the usual forest road.
Startled by a dog being walked, it moved a few dozen metres. However, another dog walker came along shortly after and it disappeared into the forest.
