台風後のシギ、チドリ

石垣島をかすりもしなかった台風14号の通過後、少しだけ海岸と田んぼの巡回。今季初確認のオバシギが2羽のほかはほぼいつものメンバーでした。

友人から、ホウロクシギとダイシャクシギがいると連絡をもらいましたが、回る時間はなし!! やはり飛翔力の秀でた大型シギは台風が当たらないと石垣島にはなかなか降りないですね。

Great Knot

The first Great Knots of the season. They arrived as a pair.

Grey-tailed Tattler / Terek Sandpiper

I thought it was a flock of Grey-tailed Tattlers, but one of them looks odd. ^^;

Marsh Sandpiper

A few Common Greenshanks turned up — they were regular early in the autumn migration, then went quiet for a while.

An adult Lesser Sand Plover with a late moult. Still in late breeding plumage. I wonder where this one came from.

A Whimbrel that summered over. First-summer to winter plumage.
