石垣島でバードウオッチング(キンバト、カタグロトビ、ムクドリ科4種編)
この時季にしては珍しく、キンバトとの遭遇率が高かった。合計でオス4羽とメス1羽を観察しました。警戒心は非常に強いので長いレンズで車内からの撮影。
カタグロトビは今回は行かない予定でしたが、師匠のウェブログを見たらやはり私も見たくなりポイントに赴きました。餌場が以前よりかなり広範囲に及んでいました。冬場は、獲物が少ないからでしょうか。師匠の案内でなんとか撮影。しかし距離がある…。^^;
レンタカーを返そうと県道を走っていたら、電線にホシムクドリ、カラムクドリ、ギンクドリ、ムクドリの混群を発見。全部合わせて200羽ぐらいかな。
石垣島シリーズ(12月31日〜1月3日)
石垣島でバードウオッチング(キンバト、カタグロトビ、ムクドリ科4種編)
A female Emerald Dove perched in a Ryukyu Pine. Light coming from the side bathed the leaves behind her in a beautiful green, almost like fresh spring foliage.
A male Emerald Dove foraging on the ground. He was picking up food in the same spot as the female above.
A male Black-winged Kite. My mentor also taught me how to tell the sexes apart.
A flock glinting in the evening sun. The photo shows 3 Common Starlings, 10 White-shouldered Starlings, 11 White-cheeked Starlings, and 6 White-cheeked Starlings — wait: 3 Rosy Starlings, 10 Daurian Starlings, 11 White-cheeked Starlings, and 6 Common Starlings.
After watching for a while, the starling flock kept growing larger and larger. It was probably a pre-roost gathering, but my flight time was pressing so I couldn't stay to the end….
