石垣島2年連続の飛来 みんな大好きブラックサシバ
昨年、幼鳥の時にやってきた暗色型のサシバ 。通称ブラックサシバが今年も同じ場所へ越冬のためやってきました。すっかり成鳥になった姿を見て安心。^^ 相変わらず警戒心は強いです。
午前中に見つけた時は、距離があったのでもう一度夕方に寄ってみると比較的近くに止まっていました。
沖縄本島には、少なくとも2羽の成鳥の暗色型サシバが越冬しているのですが、今年もそろそろやってきているのかもしれません。 南部の暗色型サシバ 。 中部の暗色型サシバ 。
A dark-morph Grey-faced Buzzard harassed by two crows. Called a black buzzard, but compared to the crows it doesn't look that dark.
I have a feeling it looks more striking than it did last year when it was still a juvenile.
In the morning it was tucked away somewhere like this, and I had a hard time finding it.
That blackness actually makes it surprisingly hard to spot compared with a normal Grey-faced Buzzard.
