海岸林でアカショウビンとアオバズク
海岸林でリュウキュウアカショウビンとリュウキュウアオバズクが営巣準備に入っていました。
アカショウビンは、求愛給餌をしたり朽ち木に巣穴を掘ったりしていました。アオバズクはカップルで同じ枝に仲良く止まっていた。おそらくこの2羽が止まっている正面にあった樹洞を巣にすると決めているのでしょう。

It coughed up a pellet. It contained beetle elytra and the like.
A Brown Hawk-Owl pair preparing to nest. The male is on the right, the female on the left. They appear to have been roosting together for about ten days already.
With this Brown Hawk-Owl pair, the male seemed to be the calmer of the two.
