稲刈りの終わった田んぼでカニやらカエルやら捕まえていました。^^

平田原の田んぼでジャワアカガシラサギ。

I thought a Chinese Pond Heron was perched on a branch, but it turned out to be a Javan Pond Heron.

The usual juvenile Crested Serpent Eagle. This one feels like it might make it through the winter. ^^

警戒心の薄そうなチョウゲンボウがいました。ミサゴは、ここ数日は毎日同じような場所で上空を通過しますが高い…。^^;

Successful hunt. It's holding a grasshopper in its bill. ^^

カンムリワシの幼鳥3連発です。^^ それぞれの幼鳥に個性があって面白い。

A juvenile that's a bit skittish, but clumsy. ^^;

師匠から連絡があり、コミミズクを。しばらく見ているともう1羽コミミズクが現れました!!

It had been pushed aside by a Purple Heron. Apparently it has many natural enemies, including harriers and falcons.

さむーい本土に較べると石垣島は暖かいねー。^^ さっそく、カンムリワシを撮ってきました。本日は4個体。

Once again, Crested Serpent Eagles are nice to photograph up close.

実家に帰ったついでにチュウヒを見てきました。ハイイロチュウヒはきれいです。 あいにく、チュウヒが遠かったのと、途中で曇ってしまいましたが…。

またまた、出勤前にカンムリワシ。^^

出社前の2時間ほどカンムリワシウォッチング。^^

成鳥サシバと幼鳥サシバが空中戦。

The juvenile Grey-faced Buzzard is on the left, the adult on the right. An overwhelming win for the adult.

雨上がりの池のほとりでカエルを捕まえていました。完食しては、次のカエルと大漁のようでした。^^ 2本目の動画はカンムリワシの鳴き声がばっちり入っています。^^

Launching an attack on a frog!!

今日は、釣り師がいないのでレンカクがいました。^^

It was a bit far… ^^;

今日は、強風が吹いてカンムリワシがなかなか見当たらず…。

It was looking down over the paddies from a windbreak grove, searching for prey. A bit out of focus… ^^;

崎枝で観察してみましたが、サシバの渡る気配はありませんでした。水田地帯には越冬サシバがいました。

For a bird that had just arrived on migration, this Grey-faced Buzzard was not particularly nervous. ^^

あちらこちらでシマアカモズの高鳴きが聞かれるようになりました。

While most Brown Shrikes are very wary, this male let me shoot up close. ^^

13、14日と2000羽越えの渡りが観察できました!! 20日前後までは条件が良ければ見られるでしょう。

A juvenile crossed almost directly overhead. I noticed too late and only got a rear view… ^^;

7羽のオオヒシクイが渡ってきています。^^

It was very wary and wouldn't let me get close, so cropped. ^^;
