まだいたアメリカウズラシギ
先日のアメリカウズラシギ2羽 のうちの1羽はまだ滞在していました。
換羽の状態から先日と同じ個体と思われますが、もしかしたら新たに入った可能性もあります。目立つ特徴があれば、そのあたりも分かるのですが…。
レンタカーのバードウォッチャーがいたので教えてあげようとしたけど、探すペースの早い人で、私がアメリカウズラシギの写真を撮ってる間に、どんどん移動して追いつけなかった…。^^;
Buff-breasted Sandpiper, juvenile.
Buff-breasted Sandpiper. Mixed in with a flock of Wood Sandpipers, it didn't stand out. Nearly missed it. ^^;
It has prey pinched at the tip of its bill. It was plunging its bill into the mud at the bottom of the water and eating what looked like small tubifex worms or bloodworms.
When Long-toed Stints or Wood Sandpipers came close, it drove them away.
A textbook Buff-breasted Sandpiper. ^^
