暖かな一日、活発なビンズイ、シロハラ、ムナグロ

沖縄では、今日は、旧暦の大晦日。新暦の大晦日は31日ですが、「晦日」はもともとは「30日」の意味ですので旧暦の大晦日は30日です。旧暦は月の周期の29.53日を基にしていますので31日は存在しません。そして明日は旧正月。八重山では、旧正月から1週間はカンムリワシ週間となります。

旧暦大晦日といえど、天気も良く、最高気温22度の穏やかな一日で野鳥の活性も高かった。^^

十数羽いたビンズイは、今日は2羽しか見当たりません。芝生の上を歩き回りながら、小さなバッタやイモムシなどを捕まえていた。

シロハラは、落ち葉の積もった場所に10羽程度集まっていて、中には愛想のいい個体がおり、こちらへどんどん寄って来た。久しぶりに近いシロハラが撮影できました。

100羽ほどの群れで眠っていたムナグロは、午後5時20分を過ぎたあたりからのそのそと起きだして造成地で餌探し。フラッグ付きや変わったムナグロも探したのですが見つからず…。^^;

Pale Thrush

About ten Pale Thrushes had gathered — perhaps there was plenty of food. The most approachable individual came right up close.

True to its name, the Pale Thrush has a white belly. ^^

Pacific Golden Plovers resting in the grass. There were just over 100.

The Pacific Golden Plovers beginning to stir. Around 5:20 p.m. they all moved at once and were busy searching for food.
