海岸の狩人ハヤブサほか

米須海岸からカモの群れを観察していると急に辺りが騒がしくなりました。双眼鏡から目を外して遠くに目をやるとなにやら猛禽らしき鳥影がこちらへ向かってきます。

これは、間違いなくカモを襲う!! 頭の中にはケニー・ロギンスの「デンジャーゾーン」が!! そうです、ファインダーの中に現れたのは猛禽界のトップガンことハヤブサでした!!

しかし、ハヤブサはカモを襲うことなく、地下水が湧き出た砂浜に舞い降り、水浴びを始めてしまいました。これは、狩らんね。^^;

というわけで、ハヤブサの貴重な水浴びを観察することができました。

上空にはミサゴも現れるのですが、やはり風向きが悪く飛び込みは全て後ろ姿…。

Bathing in a freshwater spring. How does the Peregrine Falcon know that fresh water seeps out here?

The Peregrine Falcon is usually so bold, but… ^^;

I climbed up onto the reef to shoot it without being noticed. Afterward, it headed back the way it came.

Osprey

An Osprey also came by, targeting fish in the tide pools.

Right in front of me, a Little Egret caught a large mullet. The mullet caught my eye… ^^;
