ムジセッカ、コホオアカ、アトリほか(動画あり)

年越し越冬中のムジセッカは、気温が上がると見えやすいところに出てくる印象です。餌の小虫が新芽を求めて枝先に出てくるのでしょうか。

今季は大変数の多いコホオアカは群れで島内を移動しているのか、新たな群れが入ったのか分かりませんが、200オーバーを確認しました。日が経つにつれて分散している感じです。春の渡り組かもしれません。ムネアカタヒバリも混じっていました。

アトリも50オーバーの群れを沿岸林で確認。こちらも春の渡り組だと思います。

Little Buntings have arrived in large numbers this season.

A flock of Little Buntings was feeding on the sparse remaining grass seeds in paddies not yet planted.

Red-throated Pipit

Mixed in with the Little Bunting flock were a small number of Red-throated Pipits.

The Red-throated Pipits were feeding on poorly germinated rice in paddies where planting had already been done.

This individual appears to be transitioning into breeding plumage.

Many Grey Wagtails are also well advanced in their moult.

They were gathered in leucaena, eating something. New shoots, perhaps.
