We'll drive you around Ishigaki Island to wherever the birds are showing best that day. Observation is mostly from inside the vehicle, and we keep it to a maximum of 3 guests so everyone can take their time.
昨日、電線に止まっていたブッポウソウですが、私の 師匠 が、近くで撮影できる場所を見つけてくれました。2メートルはあろうかというチガヤをかき分けて崖の手前まで行くと目の前にブッポウソウが!!
師匠の行動力と根性にはいつも感動します!!
The Dollarbird that always seemed to be sitting on a power line or somewhere underwhelming suddenly appeared right in front of me!! I was genuinely moved for the first time in a long while.

I also tried a shot at 1200mm. Those beautiful feathers are just stunning.
オウチュウを観察に行ったら、ツミが追い回していました。^^;
正直オウチュウよりツミの方が好きなので(しかもオス)、オウチュウそっちのけで観察 & 撮影。
A male Japanese Sparrowhawk was chasing a Black Drongo around. I wonder if the drongo will make it through to tomorrow… ^^;
きょうは旧暦の3月3日、浜下り(サニズ)の日でした。仕事の移動中にアカショウビンのペアを見つけました。^^

蒸し暑い一日でした。アカショウビンは活性が高く、6羽観察でき、2ペアが求愛給餌をしていました。独身のアカショウビンは隣の縄張りのアカショウビンのさえずりに反応して翼を広げて求愛していました。

午前中に崎枝半島を車で走っていると歩道から飛び立つヤツガシラを偶然見つけたのですが、警戒心が強く車道からは撮れない…。仕方ないので、アカショウビンを撮ったり、昼飯を食ったりして、夕方現場に戻ってみると近くの牧場に舞い降りていました。^^
今まで撮影したヤツガシラの中で、一番遅いのは 4月8日 でしたが記録更新です。^^
A late Eurasian Hoopoe for Ishigaki-jima. Migration usually wraps up by the end of March. This individual was very wary, so I shot at 1200mm with a 2× extender. ^^;
